Me llamo Jose Miguel Calatayud, soy periodista y estoy instalado en Estambul desde octubre de 2012. Antes, viví en Nairobi desde agosto de 2009. Desde enero hasta septiembre de 2010 fui el corresponsal de la Agencia Efe para el este y el centro de África. Desde septiembre de 2011, soy colaborador de El País, primero desde Nairobi y ahora desde Estambul. Además, colaboro ocasionalmente con otros medios españoles e internacionales.
En julio de 2012, la Fundación Marco Luchetta concedió el premio Dario D’Angelo a mi reportaje ‘A la horca con 14 años’.

My name is Jose Miguel Calatayud, I am a Spanish journalist and have been based in Istanbul since October 2012. Before coming here, I was based in Nairobi since August 2009. I was the Central and East Africa correspondent of the Spanish news agency Efe from January to August 2010. Since September 2011, I am a regular contributor to Spanish newspaper El País, first from Nairobi and now from Istanbul. And I also contribute to other Spanish and international media.
In July 2012, my feature ‘A la horca con 14 años’ (‘To the gallows at 14′) published in the Sunday supplement of El País, won the Dario D’Angelo award of the Marco Luchetta Foundation.
